ASTRONEWS REPORT ✦ ALIGN ✦ INSPIRE ✦ EMPOWER
October 2026
“Sometimes transformation doesn’t begin with becoming someone new. It begins with becoming willing to meet the parts of yourself you’ve been too busy to hear.” ~ AstroNana

THIS MONTH’S THEMEOctober doesn’t arrive asking you to hurry. It arrives like a quiet shoreline at dusk, when the noise of the day begins to fade and you can finally hear what the water has been saying all along.

The alchemist’s descent
October doesn’t arrive asking you to hurry.
It arrives like a quiet shoreline at dusk, when the noise of the day begins to fade and you can finally hear what the water has been saying all along.
The month begins beneath Libra’s gentle influence, where we are still learning about balance, relationship, fairness, and the delicate art of living peacefully with ourselves and one another. But beneath that graceful surface, something deeper is already stirring. Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, and suddenly the questions become more intimate: What do I truly value? What do I still desire? What am I holding onto because it is familiar rather than because it is right for me?
This is where October begins its alchemical work.
An alchemist doesn’t throw something into the fire because it is worthless. The fire is used because something valuable is already there, waiting to be revealed. And perhaps that is the invitation of this month: not to destroy your past, your relationships, your dreams, or even the parts of yourself you have outgrown—but to bring them into the light of honest examination and discover what is still worth carrying forward.
October is less interested in appearances and more interested in authenticity.
It asks you to go beneath the surface—not to get lost there, but to retrieve something meaningful.
The month opens with a question
Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, beginning a six-week review of love, values, desire, money, intimacy, and self-worth.
You may find yourself remembering something you thought you’d already resolved. An old relationship may cross your mind. A familiar emotional pattern may suddenly become impossible to ignore. You might notice where you’ve been giving too much, asking too little, spending from emotion, or confusing intensity with intimacy.
Don’t assume that everything returning to your awareness is asking to return to your life.
Sometimes the past comes back simply so you can finally see it with the eyes you have today.
Then, on October 10, the New Moon arrives in Libra, offering a beautiful pause. Imagine standing at a crossroads with two paths in front of you. Instead of immediately choosing one, you take a breath. You look around. You ask yourself what kind of life actually feels peaceful—not merely what looks peaceful from the outside.
This New Moon gives you an opportunity to reset the scales.
Perhaps that means making peace with someone.
Perhaps it means making peace with yourself.
And perhaps the greatest act of balance is finally admitting that you cannot keep carrying something simply because you have carried it for a long time.
Something begins to move
By October 15, Pluto stations direct at 3°04′ Aquarius.
After months of retrograde reflection, something that has been developing beneath the surface begins to move outward again.
You may not see an enormous change on the outside immediately. Pluto rarely works like that. Its deeper work is more like roots growing beneath the soil: quiet, persistent, invisible—until one day you realize the landscape has changed.
Questions around belonging, community, connection, technology, collective change, and the future may begin to take a different shape.
And personally, you may recognize that you have been reconstructing your relationship with the world around you.
Where do you belong now?
Who belongs in your inner circle?
What kind of future actually feels aligned with the person you are becoming?
October doesn’t require you to have all the answers.
It simply asks you to notice what has changed.
Then the light enters the deep water
On October 23, the Sun leaves Libra and enters Scorpio.
The atmosphere changes.
The questions become deeper. Conversations may become more honest. Your intuition may become louder. The things you have been able to politely avoid may suddenly seem to be standing directly in front of you saying, “Well… shall we talk about this now?”
And then Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 24.
That is quite a cosmic one-two punch.
The Sun shines a light into the depths while Mercury asks you to reconsider what you’ve been thinking, saying, believing, and assuming.
This is not necessarily a time to force clarity.
It is a time to allow clarity to find you.
Listen to the conversation beneath the conversation.
Notice what your body does when someone speaks.
Pay attention to the thought that keeps returning when the room becomes quiet.
Notice the dream you can’t quite forget.
Notice the truth that feels strangely peaceful once you stop arguing with it.
Sometimes wisdom doesn’t arrive as a dramatic revelation.
Sometimes it arrives as a quiet sentence inside your own mind:
“I already knew this.”
Love takes another look
Then, on October 25, Venus retrograde slips backward from Scorpio into Libra.
And suddenly the deep emotional questions of Scorpio meet Libra’s desire for fairness, harmony, and mutuality.
This is where October becomes particularly interesting.
You may have spent the first part of the month asking:
“What do I truly feel?”
Now the question becomes:
“What is fair?”
Not just fair to someone else.
Fair to you.
Where have you been compromising so much that you’ve disappeared from your own equation?
Where have you mistaken keeping the peace for actually having peace?
Where might a loving boundary create more harmony than another sacrifice?
Venus in retrograde isn’t necessarily asking you to leave something.
It is asking you to see it clearly.
And sometimes seeing clearly changes everything.
The Full Moon brings you home
Then, almost as if the cosmos knows we’ve spent enough time swimming through emotional waters, the Full Moon rises in Taurus on October 26.
What a beautiful ending to this particular chapter.
Scorpio takes us beneath the surface.
Taurus brings us back to earth.
After all the questions about relationships, values, identity, intimacy, healing, and truth, Taurus asks a beautifully simple question:
“How does this feel in your body?”
Can you breathe more easily?
Are your shoulders softer?
Does your home feel peaceful?
Are you sleeping better?
Are you eating nourishing food?
Are you spending time with people who allow you to exhale?
Have you remembered that pleasure can be simple?
A warm cup of coffee.
Bare feet on the floor.
A cozy blanket.
Music playing softly in another room.
A walk outside.
A hand held.
A good laugh.
The Full Moon reminds us that transformation isn’t complete simply because we understand something intellectually.
Eventually, the new truth has to become a way of living.
The gold has to leave the alchemist’s workshop.
It has to become part of your ordinary Tuesday.
