” No Hurries, No Worries” ~ Dayton Reed 2 years old
Hi Friends,
It’s been said, “Out of the mouths of babes oft times comes gems of wisdom.” So true, as is in the case of my 2 year old grandson Dayton.
He’s just starting to talk, little baby words that have meaning and yet not too many short sentences quite yet. He can put a couple of words together such as, “Love you” or “Love you too” but mostly he’s been mimicking, and learning from, the adults around him. Only natural wouldn’t you think?
Well that’s what makes this story, and I’ll try to keep it short, quite a profound little story indeed.
One of his most favorite things to do, with me, is to sit on my bed, with me next to his side, watching “Little Einsteins” on the Disney channel. He loves this show with the classical music and the cute cartoon characters that teach him about the world. I’m usually working on a special crocheted blanket - and he loves this too because then he knows I’m not hurrying off anywhere to go and do something else. He wants me right there by his side. So, if I don’t have my crochet hook in hand and my yarn lying across the bed he will toddle over to where I keep it and bring it to me. This is our special cozy comfort zone.
So here we are, doing our usual thing, watching this show for the umpteenth time, and yet in my mind I was thinking about the laundry. “A load in the washer and a load in the dyer that’s almost done” I thought to myself. “I wonder if I can sneak out and take the clothes out of the dryer, put them into the folding basket, put the ones from the washer into the dryer, and be back here before he realizes that I’ve been gone too long.”
So here I sit thinking this to myself when he glances over at me, pats me on my leg and says, “No worries”. I thought “Wow that’s a big word for him to say and how would be know what a worry is anyway?”
I looked over at him and said, “Did you just say no worries?” He looks at me with this grin on his face, oh so brilliant ideas glowing from his eyes, and he says, “No hurries - no worries.”
I thought, “Wow…what the heck did he just say?” So I repeated it back to him in a very calm way, “No hurries - no worries” and he smiled and went back to watching his special show.
Okay, so here we are in this Mars retrograde period of time, that had just started on Monday the 23rd and this little brilliant boy tells me this that very same evening around 8 pm. WOW! What a perfect motto for Mars retrograde in Virgo!
Needless to say, I didn’t go and do the laundry, not until the next day, and I cuddled with my grandson until he fell asleep around 9 pm.
I had to share this special story with you so that you too can use “No hurries - no worries” as your special motto for this important period of time.
What does Mars retrograde in Virgo mean?
Mars is the planet of energy. Mars went into retrograde (backwards/introverted) motion on 1/23/2012 at 7:54 pm, in the sign of Virgo, and will remain in retrograde motion until 4/14.
When Mars is retrograde everything moves very slowly. It’s as if your energy feels zapped, tired, exhausted, and you feel limited on what you can achieve on any given day. Keep your daily schedule as light as possible. This is a good time for reviewing your health issues, especially if you have any type of reoccurring health issue, and also to review how you handle your daily work situations.
I’ve talked to you many times before about Mercury retrogrades that happen about 3 times per year and you know that it’s important not to sign any important papers, or buy anything new, during those phases of time.
Well, the sign of Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury so this does feel like a more super charged version of a Mercury retrograde. Watch out for angry feelings, and other people’s temperaments. Try not to take anything that anyone says to you too personally. Everyone has issues that they are trying to figure out right now.
It’s also important to be extra careful while driving. Don’t start anything new during this phase of time. Anything new you may start will only fizzle out and end up being a temporary thing. Wait until this phase passes to purchase anything new - especially if it is electrical in any way.
During the month of March, 3/12 - 4/4, we will also have a Mercury retrograde going on at the same time this current Mars retrograde is going on. Stock up on your basic essentials and try to take a vacation if at all possible.
This is an important period of time for all of us to take stock of what we already have, get rid of things we don’t need anymore, and simplify our lives.
Everyone will be affected by this energy that is going on, but those that will be most affected will be:
Virgo; because Mars is in Virgo right now.
Aries; because Mars is the ruling planet for Aries.
Scorpio; because Mars is also one of the ruling planets for Scorpio.
But keep in mind that everyone has these 3 signs in your chart somewhere. If you have a copy of your natal chart then look at it to see which houses of your chart, and your life, will be most affected.
To keep things really simple…just keep in mind Dayton’s beautiful Motto:
“No Hurries…No Worries”
And I’m sure you’ll do just fine.
